General Manager - Mobile Games
About the Role
General Manager - Mobile Games (Remote)
Remote
The Opportunity
Mode Mobile is building a mobile game business designed to scale, one that users love, partners trust, and whose P&L actually works.
We’re hiring a General Manager of Mobile Games to take full ownership of Mode’s growing portfolio of casual and puzzle games. This is not a “strategy deck” role. This is for someone who has built, scaled, and monetized games before—and wants real control, real accountability, and real upside.
If you’ve lived inside mobile gaming, and you’re ready to run the whole thing like it’s your own business, this role is for you.
We are not looking for someone to learn mobile gaming. We are looking for someone with deep expertise to drive results quickly.
What You’ll Own
The Mobile Gaming Business — End to End
Full P&L ownership for Mode’s mobile gaming vertical
Strategy, execution, growth, and profitability. No shared ownership, no ambiguity
Decide what to build, partner, license, acquire, or shut down
Gaming That Actually Scales
Own the vision and roadmap for Mode’s gaming experiences
Balance user engagement, economics, and monetization tradeoffs across multiple growth and distribution channels, including traditional mobile UA channels, rewarded partners, organic users, and more
Partner closely with Product, Monetization, Engineering, UA, and Data to ship, test, and iterate fast
Growth, Monetization, and Economics
Optimize monetization through strategic balancing of in-app ad revenue and in-app purchases
Develop strong user-focused feature designs and product roadmaps
Work with Growth team to drive user acquisition, retention, and lifetime value across a gaming portfolio through paid, organic, and owned user acquisition channels
Set and own KPIs: ARPU, margin, retention, ROAS, and scale
Partnerships & Deals That Matter
Source, negotiate, and manage relationships with game developers, publishers, and monetization partners
Structure revenue-share, licensing, aggregation, and platform deals
Evaluate strategic partnerships and M&A opportunities in gaming
Build and Lead the Team
Hire and lead a lean, high-output team across product, growth, ops, and partnerships
Set the operating cadence, goals, and accountability
Create a culture of ownership, speed, and clear decision-making
Zero-Bureaucracy Execution
Work directly with the CEO and executive team
No layers. No handoffs. No waiting for permission.
You own the number and the strategy to hit it
Who This Role Is For
You might be a fit if:
You’ve built or scaled a mobile gaming business, including studio operations, with a focus on casual and puzzle.
You’ve owned a business line, product portfolio, or P&L, not just contributed to one
You understand the real economics of gaming, including the use of rewarded networks for growth
You have a vision for how AI can be used to enhance studio productivity and reduce time to market
You’re comfortable making fast, imperfect decisions and owning the outcome
You want autonomy, accountability, and upside, and not consensus meetings
This Is Not a Role For
Product leaders who don’t want P&L responsibility
Operators who need heavy structure, playbooks, or guardrails
Anyone looking to “explore” mobile gaming as a learning opportunity
What Success Looks Like (First 6–18 Months)
Mobile games become a meaningful, profitable growth engine for Mode
Clear, repeatable acquisition and monetization loops
Strong developer and partner traction
A self-sustaining gaming org that scales without constant escalation
Why This Role Is Different
Full ownership of a core growth vertical
Direct CEO access and real decision-making authority
A profitable company with startup speed
Massive whitespace in gaming, supported by a global distribution network
